Manuel Osborne-Paradis
- 2-time Olympian (2006 & 2010)
- 2 World Cup wins
- Co-created the 'Cowboys Camp'
Manny, as he is known by friends and fans alike, was born and raised on the North Shore of Vancouver. He put on his first set of skis at the age of 3 and hasn’t looked back. At the age of 15 he moved to Invermere, B.C. to ski with the BC Provincial Ski Team. It wasn’t long before he qualified for the Canadian Alpine Ski Team and began competing on the World Cup (in 2004) Tour.
In February 2006 he had one of his dreams come true; he represented Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympic Winter Games in Italy. This was followed by his first World Cup podium, a 2nd place at the Bombardier Winterstart Downhill at Lake Louise on November 26, 2006. His first World Cup victory came on March 6, 2009 when he won the downhill at Kvitfjell, Norway. To date, Manny has 6 world cup podiums.
Giving back to the community is a big part of Manny’s life. He created the ‘Get up and Go’ bursary which has morphed into a 4-day, all expenses paid ski camp for 10 up-and-coming young ski racers from BC. It’s called the ‘Cowboys Camp’. He and teammate Mike Janyk have given countless hours and financial support to make the camp a big hit.
Manny is well-known for his fun-loving personality and ability to befriend just about anyone! His hobbies include surfing, mountain biking and golf. In fact, his interest in golf combined with his personality saw him become part of Callaway golf as an ambassador for their Diablo brand.
Your next Best of Both experience with Manny, either on the slopes of fairways, is guaranteed to be lots of fun and very memorable.
