Christy Risler
- 4 year World Cup Tour competitor (2001-2004)
- 2nd - 2002 National Downhill Championships
- 6-year Canadian Alpine Ski Team member
Christy was born in Calgary and then moved to Vancouver with her family at the age of six. Commuting to Whistler throughout the winter to ski soon made it clear that it was best the family move to Whistler. The more Christy skied, the faster she went and the more addicted to speed she became. Ski racing was a natural fit to feed Christy’s ‘need for speed’. Moving through the ranks of the Whistler Mountain Ski Club and the BC Provincial Ski Team, she joined the Canadian Ski Team in 1999. Her ‘need for speed‘ dealt her some highs and unfortunate lows: a torn right knee PCL in 2003 followed by a torn ACL in the same knee in 2004 left doctors no choice but to hold off giving Christy clearance to return to ski racing.
Now living in North Vancouver and armed with a Business Degree, Christy spends her time between running her business, spending time with friends and fiance and playing in the outdoors. She still loves to get out skiing to fulfill her speed addiction but also enjoys other sports including mountain biking, squash and surfing. Get ready for an exhilarating day on the slopes with Christy when she guides you during your next Best of Both ski day.
